The Dread from the Drows by Erich Sanchack and Dani Sanchack is the continuation of The Orphans of Nilad. EoC and Kaida Nosam’s journey takes them to the Drows as they search for the Amulet of Planes. Instead of getting closer to home, they find themselves on another complicated journey to their goal. A mysterious threat brews on the horizon, and with ancient tensions and fragile alliances, EoC, Kaida, and their companions try to piece together what is really happening. The group must now navigate the new dangers with great care. Along the way, they realize that helping others may come at a greater cost than they were prepared to pay. Read the second book of The Nosam Chronicles to find out more!
The Dread from the Drows unfolds into something far grander with its ambitious and engrossing plotline of a new mission and a dangerous promise. This sequel refocuses on all the elements that made the first book great. The setting is much broader, and I enjoyed how the plot ratchets up the stakes while still retaining the enjoyment of the first book. The more I read, the more I felt that the story was opening up in every direction, while still keeping the characters’ search for a way home at its center. This book takes the story somewhere new and gives the world and the plot much more room to grow. Erich and Dani Sanchack have written a detailed, vivid narrative that let me imagine the whole book like a movie playing in my head. This is a masterpiece, and I can’t wait for more!”
